More ducklings

We're up to 3 ducklings - Merry, Christmas and Noel. They are all so cute. I'm so glad Noel hatched because Christmas was by itself, all lonely. The last 2 are just being fed by humans, not a lot of contact. Hopefully this science fair project will win a regional (or dare we hope) state award!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!

Evan and I are decorating the Christmas tree. Oh, how I love the holiday season!!

Spent 2 1/2 hours this morning at Scrappin' Creations with Stacie. I did the December scrapbook layout. No it wasn't that hard - - I sat around and chatted!

I'll post pictures later!

Christmas is Around the Corner

Can you believe Christmas is only 54 days away? Has anyone started Christmas shopping? I'm trying to find things to make for friends and family. What to do, what to do!!

The budget at BCBSSC is almost over. I almost have my life back. I can't wait until Tuesday - hopefully the Sellers meeting will go well.

Lutheran Youth Encounter

We have 2 people from the Lutheran Youth Encounter staying with us. They came in on Thursday night and are leaving Saturday morning. Matt Plank and Heaven Harper are both awesome young adults serving God. The Turnmires wish them Godspeed.

Purple Martins

We went to see the purple martins come to Bombing Range Island last night. Is was AMAZING to see that many birds at one time. They estimate that there are 700,000 birds that come to the island at night. We had purple martinis to go with the purple martin tour, too! That was good, too!

Ohio Trip

We got back from Ohio today. We were there for my nephew, Ethan's, graduation and to meet our new great niece and twin great nephews. It was awesome to hold so many new babies in one day! They are (from left to right) Fin, Alyssa and Graham.

Ethan not only graduated from high school, but he made it to State Track meet finals and played football in Hawaii for a couple of weeks. He's going to Wooster College on a partial football scholarship. We are very proud of him! Not only is he talented, but handsome, too! One of the pictures on the hometown paper website is below. I swear he paid the photographer to follow him at the track meets!

Magnolia Monogramming

Here are travel drink glasses I sell for $15 - which includes a monogram of 1 or 3 initials.

4th of July

What a 4th of July! We hung out at the pool most of the day. Then went to 5:05 church service. Afterwards, we went to the park to here Coastal Breeze play. We had a great group of friends from Living Springs Lutheran Church join us: Retha Murray, Kathy and Ed Brennan, Anthony and Krista Gutteriz, Wendy McKenzie and then the kids, Audrey, Evan, Marisa, Mitchell, and Meredith! Great time!!

We came home and put off fireworks. Evan was CRAZY!! But it was fun.

Weekend

Audrey made it home from camp! She had a great time, enjoyed old friends and made new friends. I'm glad she's home. Surprisingly, so is Evan!!

Went to a scrapbook crop from 9am until 11pm Saturday. It was excellent. I got 14 pages completed! WOOHOO! Thanks to Stacie Mandrell (owner of Scrappin' Creations) for hosting it. Unfortunately, I could only attend the one day out of three. Imagine what I could've gotten done if I was there the whole time!!

I'm very sad it is Sunday and I have to go to work on Monday; but the good news is we're off on Friday.

Have a great week!!

What a week!!

What a week! First of all Governor Mark Sanford is missing, then admits he is having an affair. Then Ed McMahon dies, then Farrah Fawcett and lastly Michael Jackson. Icons from my teenage and adulthood. Although Michael became kind of a whacked out guy, he was awesome when I was in high school and college. He sang (and wrote) some of the best music to dance to. My Zeta sisters and I dancing at the Dixie Electric Company is one of my favorite college memories!

Speaking of Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA), the Eta Pi Chapter is once again having a reunion. This time in Cincinnati, hopefully in October. It's been over 20 years since I've seen these women I love and cannot wait to see them again!

Audrey will be home in 2 days from camp. YEAH!! I miss her very much. But I will be at a scrapbook crop when she comes home. I'll have to take a break and come home to see her!

Have a great Friday!!

It is AFRICA hot!!!

Bob and I are trying to get the yard ready for a church get together. But it's so hot, we floated in the pool! I threw Oscar, Meredith McKenzie's and Wendy McKenzie's dog, in the pool!! He won't get near me yet - and it's been over an hour ago!

Audrey's leaving for confirmation camp tomorrow. She'll be gone for a week. Evan is excited - I'm losing my buddy that keeps me company when Evan has all-star baseball practice and games! I'll miss her a lot, but it's good for her to be gone. She loves it!

Pictures from today include dh, Bob, throwing Audrey in the pool and pictures of a tag album I'm going to sneak into Audrey's suitcase tomorrow. It's from K and Company. I love the way it turned out. I put 3 bible verses in it: Galations 3:26-27, John 3:5 and Matthew 5:14.

Flower Soft

Kathy Brennan came over tonight. We played with a cricut cutting machine and flower soft. The flower soft is really cool! We added it to a wheelbarrow for the flowers then made flowers on pieces of cover wire. I'm not sure which one is more fun!!

Both Audrey and Evan has sports camp this week. Audrey is in an 8am-5pm basketball camp and Evan has a 1/2 day baseball camp. Audrey CRASHED on the sofa around 7pm! Unfortunately, she woke up and is watching MY vampire movie - The Lost Boys.

Have a great week!

Carolina Girls Shoebox Swap

Saturday was the 7th Carolina Girl's Shoebox Swap. We had a great time! The cards and other items we made are below!

Last week, we hosted Jenifer Luceno from Watermark Denmark Youth Encounter group. It's amazing! We have hosted 4 years now and we have been so lucky and blessed to have 4 terrific people! But what makes Jen so special is she's the first lady we hosted. Audrey was thrilled! Jen's first 2 hours at the house were spent braiding Audrey's hair. A week later, and the braids are still in! Below is a picture of Audrey, Evan and Jen. Evan is such a goofball! He just finished baseball practice when this picture was taken. He normally isn't that sweaty!! OK - he normally is, but we'll pretend he isn't!

I also want to say congratulations to my nephew, Ethan, who was mentioned in one of last year's posts. He made it to State Finals in Track and had never been on the track team before! He is getting ready to go to Hawaii to play football for two weeks, too. What a way to end your senior year in high school!
